Huge congratulations to our boys from 5th Class who qualified for the 2019 Scratch National Finals at Tech Week, held at the University of Limerick on Wednesday the 15th May, hosted by the Irish Computer Society and supported by Lero, the Irish Software Research Centre.
Their project was titled ‘One Small Step’ and commemorated the 50th anniversary of the first moon landing. It combined interesting facts, with fun questions, and a game to reward the player’s efforts
Out of over 550 entries, the 32 best projects were invited to attend the finals to present their projects. With stiff competition, and scrutiny by a panel of Judges, the boys took the National Award for Primary Schools 5th to 6th Class, and are delighted with their win.
They run a Scratch Programming club in Robinstown National School, and are currently teaching children from 3rd and 4th Class to program using Scratch.
